On September 28, eight ETFs were listed simultaneously on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, including the first three ETFs tracking Hong Kong Exchange cross-market indices.

HKEX Chief Executive Chan said that tracking cross-market indices represents an important milestone in the development of the exchange's index business, and the ETFs listed today broaden investors' tool and product choices, further driving the vitality of the ecosystem.

Chan stated that HKEX will continue to vigorously expand its index business, strengthen cooperation with exchange partners and industry players, promote product development and innovation, and provide the market with more diversified investment tools.

The first three ETFs tracking HKEX cross-market indices listed today are the Da Cheng Galaxy Hong Kong-Malaysia Large Cap ETF (03143), the GF Hong Kong-US Technology ETF (03599), and the Huatai Yingke Hong Kong-Korea Semiconductor Index ETF (03569), all of which are "60/40 ETFs" that simultaneously invest in Hong Kong stocks and overseas assets, with Hong Kong stocks and overseas stocks accounting for 60% and 40% respectively.

In addition, other "60/40 ETFs" also listed simultaneously today include the Fullgoal Hang Seng Hong Kong-US Robotics ETF (03093), the GF MSCI Global Strategic Metals Select Index ETF (03566), the Guotai Haitong Global Strategic Resources ETF (03197), and the Guotai Haitong Global Future Technology ETF (03585).

Furthermore, Hong Kong's first pure Hong Kong stock AI-themed ETF, the Hang Seng AI Evolution ETF (03438), also listed today.

Bursa Malaysia Chief Executive Officer Datuk Fadil Mohamed expressed welcome to Da Cheng International for launching the ETF tracking the HKEX-Bursa Malaysia Large Cap Index, marking the official debut of the first investment product based on this co-branded benchmark index.

This latest development also helps raise the profile of Malaysian companies among investors in Hong Kong and mainland China, further advancing broad cooperation between the two exchanges and strengthening regional market connectivity.

Korea Exchange Head of Future Business Division Lee Buyeon stated that he is delighted to welcome the listing of the ETF tracking the HKEX-KRX Semiconductor Index. This index is the first joint index launched through cooperation between KRX and HKEX.

This demonstrates how the two exchanges can leverage their combined expertise in market operations and index development, promote cross-market cooperation, and support investors in regional asset allocation.
