Petroperu Reports Eighth Illegal Oil Theft Tapping Point on Northern Peru Pipeline

Petroperu has issued a statement confirming the discovery of an eighth illegal tapping point on the Northern Peru Pipeline (ONP) in the Sechura district of Piura province.
The company has activated its emergency response protocol and dispatched specialized personnel to the site.
Since June 2026, a total of eight unauthorized connections have been identified along the pipeline in the Sechura desert area.
Petroperu stated that this latest attack on the Northern Peru Pipeline has resulted in a crude oil spill.
The company has reported the incident to the relevant authorities and intends to file a criminal complaint with the local prosecutor's office.
