A total of 391 new parking spaces will be created at a Zhoushan hospital with the construction of an intelligent multi-storey parking garage.
According to Putuo District People's Hospital, the new smart multi-storey parking facility is being built to ease parking difficulties for patients. The project has completed pile foundation work and is about to enter the steel structure construction phase, with operation expected before next year's Spring Festival.
The hospital handles about 1.3 million outpatient and emergency visits annually, yet it previously had only just over 90 parking spaces on site. During peak consultation hours, large numbers of vehicles were forced to queue on roads around the hospital, causing traffic congestion, slowing traffic flow, and affecting both the efficiency and experience of medical visits.
A responsible person from Putuo District People's Hospital said that in response to this practical problem, the hospital planned to upgrade the existing parking lot into a multi-storey facility without carrying out large-scale civil engineering expansion, maximizing the use of existing space. As a result, the construction of an AGV intelligent multi-storey parking garage was put on the agenda.
The new intelligent multi-storey parking garage occupies the site of the original 90 parking spaces and features a four-storey main structure, with each floor divided into upper and lower parking areas. By building upward, it will create 391 new parking spaces, a leap forward in capacity.
Compared with traditional parking lots, the biggest highlight of the new multi-storey parking garage is its fully intelligent, unmanned and user-friendly operation, truly freeing patients from parking hassles.
The project is equipped with a high-performance CIMC AGV parking robot system. The parking robot has a maximum lifting height of 2.9 meters, suitable for the vast majority of family cars used for medical visits, and can achieve fully automatic precise obstacle avoidance and smooth parking.
A responsible person from the construction unit said that in order to precisely match residents' medical visit procedures, the parking system will be connected with the hospital's online appointment registration system to achieve integrated medical visit and parking services, greatly shortening patients' time at the hospital.
According to the introduction, once the parking garage is put into use, residents booking appointments online can simultaneously fill in their consultation time slot and license plate information, and the parking garage will reserve a dedicated space in advance for the patient. After arriving by car, residents only need to drive onto the designated parking platform and can then get out and go directly to the consultation room. The subsequent vehicle transfer, parking and storage processes will all be completed automatically by AGV robots.
When the patient completes the consultation process, the information will also be synchronized to the parking system, and the robot will transfer the vehicle to the exit platform.
A responsible person from Putuo District People's Hospital said that during their visit, residents do not need to search for parking spaces or wait to retrieve their cars. After seeing the doctor, they can drive away directly, making the medical visit process more efficient and comfortable.
