Altman Discusses IPO Plans: No Specific Timeline in Mind

Altman stated that he has "no specific timeline in mind" for when OpenAI might go public. He said that once the company feels it has understood how to handle the next level of AI and do so safely, he believes it could be possible.
"To rush into an IPO when things feel so volatile, and I really want to be able to focus only on the mission, rather than all the challenges a newly public company faces, I just don't want to do that," Altman said.
"I really think now is the time to put safety and the mission first."
