Samsung Electro-Mechanics has announced that it has signed a supply contract worth 285 billion Korean won, or approximately US$210 million, with a major global company to provide multilayer ceramic capacitors (MLCCs) and inductors.
According to a regulatory filing submitted by Samsung Electro-Mechanics, the contract will run from January 1 to December 31, 2027, covering a full year of deliveries.
The contract value accounts for roughly 2.5% of Samsung Electro-Mechanics' consolidated sales of 11.31 trillion Korean won in 2025.
The company did not disclose the identity of the customer or other key contract terms, citing commercial confidentiality.
MLCCs are critical passive components in electronic devices, primarily used to regulate and stabilize electrical current, and are widely applied in smartphones, automobiles, and other electronic products.
As high-performance electronic devices advance and automotive electrification deepens, demand for MLCCs has become an important pillar supporting Samsung Electro-Mechanics' core components business.
Following the announcement, Samsung Electro-Mechanics' share price rose by about 0.9% at one point.
