Against the backdrop of the Healthy China strategy and the deepening development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, the 2026 Bay Area Conference and Greater Bay Area International Medical and Health Industry Exchange Cooperation Summit was held on September 21 in Shekou, Shenzhen. PA Good Doctor (01833) and Peking University Medical, in partnership with the clinic industry platform Clinics Alliance, officially launched a deep collaboration focused on medical-insurance integration and joint clinic network development, with ten institutions participating as the first cohort of intended partners in the project kickoff.

Themed "Riding the Tide of the Greater Bay Area, Embarking on a New Era of Health," the summit centered on international medical services, cross-border healthcare access, commercial insurance payments, and opportunities for collaboration within the broader health industry. The event aimed to build a high-level platform for medical and health industry exchange that is rooted in the region yet connected to global markets, drawing more than a thousand industry representatives and over a hundred institutions and enterprises. Participants spanned government parks, international medical departments of public hospitals, private medical groups, commercial health insurers, traditional Chinese medicine globalization initiatives, and the longevity medicine sector.

As population aging accelerates and residents' health demands evolve, commercial health insurance is increasingly becoming a vital component of the multi-tiered medical security system, with medical-insurance integration emerging as a key industry trend. The Greater Bay Area, characterized by its high degree of healthcare openness and active cross-border medical demand, represents fertile ground for exploring synergies between medical services and insurance.

Zhu Yougang, Party Secretary, Chairman, and Chief Executive Officer of Ping An Health Insurance, Party Secretary and Chairman of Peking University Medical, and Chairman of PA Good Doctor, attended the summit and delivered a keynote report titled "Integrated Medical-Insurance Collaboration for Mutual Growth and Win-Win Outcomes." In his presentation, Zhu outlined four dimensions: China Ping An's industrial layout, opportunities in medical-insurance partnerships, cooperation principles, and the path for joint development.

Zhu emphasized that China Ping An is committed to building a comprehensive ecosystem for customer-facing medical and health services across all scenarios. The market space for medical-insurance coordination is substantial, and clinic network co-construction serves as the critical vehicle for translating industry opportunities into tangible business results. In 2025, Ping An achieved health insurance premium income of 159 billion yuan, with estimated medical and health service demand linked to insurance liability coverage and complimentary benefits totaling approximately 50 billion yuan. Combined with an annual claims fund pool of nearly 250 billion yuan and a corporate health management market of about 40 billion yuan, the growth potential for medical-insurance synergy is vast. Chronic disease management, outpatient follow-up visits, and diagnostic testing needs of commercial insurance clients align precisely with the competitive strengths of primary care clinics, promising incremental business for clinic partners.

Zhu proposed that clinic network development should adhere to three fundamental consensus principles and two collaborative management mechanisms: upholding clinical standards, strictly ensuring quality and safety, and optimizing service experience, along with safeguarding data security and implementing dynamic tiered collaboration. The project will advance systematically through four stages: application and assessment, contract signing and onboarding, pilot operations, and scaled co-development.

He stated that the clinic network initiative will foster a four-party collaborative primary care health service ecosystem. Peking University Medical will contribute clinical pathways, quality control systems, and expert talent resources to drive the downward flow of quality medical capabilities. PA Good Doctor will provide digital capabilities, product co-creation, and operational support to connect online and offline service channels. Ping An Health Insurance will offer commercial insurance payments, direct billing networks, and customer benefit design to innovate diversified payment models. Cooperating clinics and community medical institutions will be responsible for on-the-ground service delivery, continuously enhancing patient experience. All parties will uphold principles alongside empowerment, opening resources at differentiated levels to partner institutions, ultimately ensuring that more residents can access professional, continuous, and accessible health services close to home.

During the summit's cooperation ceremony, PA Good Doctor, Peking University Medical, and Clinics Alliance formally initiated the "Deep Cooperation on Medical-Insurance Integration and Clinic Network Co-Development" and jointly signed the Framework Agreement on Clinic Network Co-Development and Deep Medical-Insurance Integration Cooperation. Wu Dongliang, Assistant General Manager of Peking University Medical; Wu Hongliang, General Manager of the Pharmaceutical and Medical Device Business Department at PA Good Doctor; and Chen Zhilin, representative of Clinics Alliance, completed the agreement signing on behalf of the three parties, with representatives from ten initial intended institutions participating in the project launch.

Under the agreement, the three parties will collaborate on clinic network establishment, medical capability coordination, medical-insurance integration exploration, and industry capacity building. Peking University Medical will select the highest-quality clinic institutions for partnership, building collaborative networks across key cities and specialty areas, and recruiting development-oriented partners from the industry. The goal is to convert the service demands of Ping An's more than 253 million customers into accessible, professional medical and health services delivered at the community level, deepening the integration of quality services with commercial insurance scenarios. This initiative explores practical models for linking commercial insurance with primary care clinics, delivering professional, accessible, and compassionate medical-insurance coordinated services to more communities and families. It injects new momentum into improving the multi-tiered medical security system and advancing coordinated development between commercial insurance and primary care, while charting a replicable and scalable path for the convergence of commercial insurance and clinic networks.

Looking ahead, PA Good Doctor will continue to deepen its "China Version HMO" managed care model, leveraging its platform advantages in professional, companionship-style medical services. With technology as the foundation and the "Four Reaches" service network as its extension, the company will join hands with more industry partners to build a high-quality medical-insurance coordinated health service ecosystem, striving to ensure that "hassle-free, time-saving, and cost-effective" medical and health services truly safeguard users' longevity journeys.
