Cutia Therapeutics announced that the Macao Pharmaceutical Administration Bureau has granted marketing approval for CU-40102, its topical finasteride spray developed to treat androgenetic alopecia. The green light follows earlier authorisations from China’s National Medical Products Administration (30 June 2025) and Hong Kong’s Department of Health (1 August 2025), marking the product’s third regulatory clearance in Greater China.

CU-40102 delivers finasteride directly to the scalp, acting as a competitive and specific inhibitor of Type II 5-alpha reductase. By localising drug exposure, the topical formulation is designed to maintain high scalp concentrations while reducing systemic absorption compared with oral finasteride, potentially improving patient acceptance.

The product is already in nationwide commercial rollout across mainland China, and the Macao approval is expected to expand its regional reach and support the Group’s broader international plans. Management reiterated that there is no guarantee of ultimate commercial success and urged investors to exercise caution when trading the company’s shares.
