Beijing Sun-Novo Pharmaceutical Research Co.,Ltd. (688621.SH) has announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary, Chengdu Novo-St Biotechnology Co., Ltd. ("Novo-St"), has achieved the expected objectives in the Phase I clinical trial of its independently developed STC008 injection (project code "STC008") for the treatment of cancer cachexia in advanced solid tumors.

STC008 is a Class 1 chemical peptide new drug independently developed by Novo-St based on the iCVETide® platform for the treatment of cancer cachexia. It works by activating GHSR and initiating downstream signaling, ultimately achieving efficacy in improving weight loss and anorexia in patients with cancer cachexia.

The drug is intended for the treatment of cancer cachexia associated with advanced solid tumors such as non-small cell lung cancer, gastric cancer, pancreatic cancer, and colorectal cancer.
