On September 27, the 48th WorldSkills Competition concluded successfully in Shanghai. Three contestants from China East Education (HKEX: 00667) won 2 gold medals and 1 silver medal. Yang Xiaojian, a teacher at Anhui New Oriental Cooking Senior Technical School, won the gold medal in the Cooking (Western Cuisine) category. Wang Tianxiang, a student at Anhui New Oriental Cooking Senior Technical School, won the gold medal in the Confectionery/Pastry Making category. Li Xin, a student at Chengdu Omandi Technical School, won the silver medal in the Hairdressing category.
All three "post-2000" contestants went through layers of selection at the school, provincial, and national levels before ultimately representing China on the world stage and standing on the podium. Yang Xiaojian (center), Wang Tianxiang (center), Li Xin (first from left).
The WorldSkills Competition is known as the "Olympics of Skills." This edition brought together nearly 1,385 contestants from 68 countries and regions. The Chinese delegation sent 71 contestants to compete in all 64 events. The number of participating countries and regions, the number of contestants, and the number of competition events all reached record highs. For the first time since its founding, the competition was held in China and hosted in Shanghai, marking a historic breakthrough in China's history of hosting the WorldSkills Competition.

Behind the fact that all three contestants won awards is the competition talent cultivation system that China East Education has built over many years. The group deeply integrates industry standards with teaching processes, forming a mature education system of "promoting teaching through competition, promoting learning through competition, and promoting training through competition," and has established a four-tier selection mechanism of "school-provincial-national-WorldSkills." With Anhui New Oriental Cooking Senior Technical School, Ningxia New Oriental Technical School, and Chengdu Omandi Technical School serving as the venue support for China's WorldSkills training bases for Cooking (Western Cuisine), Confectionery/Pastry, and Hairdressing respectively, and with a "dual-qualified" teaching team possessing WorldSkills judging qualifications and competition experience, a systematic and practical talent cultivation loop has been built. From the "pyramid" cultivation system of layer-by-layer selection to the "one person, one policy" training plan, together they form a replicable and promotable "East Education sample" for competition talent cultivation. This not only effectively connects teaching and competition, but also provides important practical reference for the country in cultivating high-quality technical and skilled talent.
From repeated refinement in late-night training rooms to the glorious moment on the world's highest skills podium, Yang Xiaojian, Wang Tianxiang, and Li Xin interpreted with their actions the true meaning of "skills illuminate the future." In the future, China East Education will continue to deepen education and teaching reform, fully introduce WorldSkills event requirements, scoring rules, and industry skills standards into the classroom, and form a practical path in which "course content aligns with industry standards and teaching assessment connects with competition standards," allowing more students to achieve wonderful lives on the track of skills and to write a splendid chapter of "vocational education" on the era's answer sheet from "building a career through skills" to "building a strong nation through talent."
