One hand at ChinaAMC, one hand at CITIC Securities, Zou Yingguang has officially become a "dual" chairman spanning both fund and securities sectors.

On September 28, CITIC Securities Company Limited (ASX: 600030) issued an announcement electing Zou Yingguang as the company's chairman, legal representative, and member of the board nomination committee, with his term lasting until the expiration of the eighth board of directors. Shortly before this, former CITIC Securities chairman and party secretary Zhang Youjun retired upon reaching the statutory age and stepped down from related positions.

Public information shows that Zou Yingguang's personal career experience can be described as legendary — he is a figure who crossed over from medicine to the financial industry. In 1994, Zou Yingguang obtained a bachelor's degree in clinical medicine from Capital Medical University. Fresh out of university, Zou Yingguang worked as a surgeon at Xuanwu Hospital of Capital Medical University for a period of time. In 2000, Zou Yingguang graduated with a master's degree in economics from Central University of Finance and Economics, officially making his crossover into the financial industry.

As a securities industry leader, Zou Yingguang has "left and entered twice" at China Securities and CITIC Securities, having successively served as assistant general manager of the bond business department and administrative head of the fixed income department at China Securities; administrative head of the fixed income department at CITIC Securities; chief financial officer at China Securities; and general manager at CITIC Securities, among other positions. From a veteran deeply rooted in the fixed income line, he advanced step by step to become a financial veteran, and subsequently joined the core management of CITIC Securities.

In the first half of 2026, when Zou Yingguang served as general manager of CITIC Securities Company Limited (ASX: 600030), CITIC Securities achieved operating revenue of 49.692 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 50.00%; net profit attributable to shareholders of 23.343 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 69.60%, setting the best mid-year level in history. Among this, in the first half of 2026, CITIC Securities achieved brokerage business revenue of 13.1 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 41%; securities investment business revenue of 19.9 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 37%; asset management business revenue of 8 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 33%; and securities underwriting business revenue of 2.9 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 42%.

During his tenure as general manager of CITIC Securities, starting from September 2025, Zou Yingguang began concurrently serving as chairman of ChinaAMC, a controlled subsidiary of CITIC Securities. In the first half of 2026, when he helmed ChinaAMC, ChinaAMC achieved operating revenue of 5.708 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 34.1%; net profit of 1.413 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 25.8%.

At present, the challenges Zou Yingguang faces in helming CITIC Securities are not small. As a former industry leader, CITIC Securities' industry position is facing challenges. In the first half of 2026, Guotai Haitong has already overtaken CITIC Securities in scale indicators such as total assets, number of clients, and margin financing balance, while CITIC Securities' leverage ratio is less than 5 times, still lagging behind the generally above 10 times of international first-class investment banks, and its profit quality also needs improvement.

So, how to break through? Zou Yingguang proposed that CITIC Securities' core strategic direction is "improving quality and efficiency, strengthening competitiveness, and expanding internationally." At the 2026 interim results conference, Zou Yingguang explicitly listed "expanding internationally" as one of its core measures, with the core idea of using Hong Kong as a bridgehead to advance CITIC Securities' layout across Asia-Pacific and toward the globe, pushing internationalization from the level of business expansion to systematic deepening. It is hoped that Chairman Zou Yingguang can lead CITIC Securities to grow into an international first-class investment bank.
