Prudential plc repurchases 583,592 shares, trims share capital

Prudential plc has cancelled an aggregate 583,592 ordinary shares following buy-backs executed on Sep, 17 2026 and processed on Sep, 21 2026, lowering its issued share capital to 2,486,671,576 shares.

The insurer also reported that a further 1,569,971 shares repurchased on Sep, 18 2026 and Sep, 21 2026 remain to be cancelled.

On Sep, 21 2026, Prudential repurchased a total of 673,399 shares on the London Stock Exchange, split between 405,352 shares under the authority granted at its May, 14 2025 annual general meeting (AGM) and 268,047 shares under the renewed authority approved at the May, 28 2026 AGM. The shares were bought at prices ranging between GBP 9.72 and GBP 9.822.

Under the 2025 AGM mandate, Prudential is authorised to repurchase up to 262.7 million shares and has so far bought back about 122.9 million, representing 4.72% of the company’s issued share base at the time of that mandate. Under the 2026 AGM mandate, 4.19 million shares have been repurchased to date, equivalent to 0.17% of the shares outstanding when the authority was granted.

Following the latest transactions, Prudential remains subject to a 30-day moratorium, ending on Oct, 21 2026, during which it cannot issue new shares or dispose of treasury shares without prior exchange approval.
