Prudential plc cancels 0.83 million shares, buys back a further 0.78 million

Prudential plc said it cancelled 830,739 ordinary shares of GBP0.05 each on Sep, 24 2026, following their repurchase on Sep, 22 2026. The cancellations reduced the insurer’s outstanding share count to about 2.484 billion.

The company also reported that it repurchased an additional 782,407 shares on Sep, 24 2026 via the London Stock Exchange at prices ranging between GBP9.408 and GBP9.556 per share, for a total consideration of approximately GBP7.43 million. All of these shares are intended for cancellation.

Of the shares bought back on Sep, 24 2026, 419,848 were acquired under the authority granted at the 2025 annual general meeting (AGM) held on May, 14 2025, while 362,559 were purchased under the renewed mandate approved at the 2026 AGM on May, 28 2026.

Following the latest transactions, Prudential plc has repurchased 124.1 million shares (4.77 % of its issued share base at the time of the 2025 AGM mandate) under the 2025 authority and 5.4 million shares (0.21 %) under the 2026 authority.

The company is subject to a moratorium on issuing new shares or selling any treasury shares until Oct, 24 2026.
