According to Zhitong Finance APP, the Value Partners Optical Communication Active ETF (02811) fell over 6%, down 5.97% as of press time, trading at HK$14.01 with a turnover of HK$2.9093 million.

On the news front, overseas policy developments have dampened sentiment in the optical communication sector. The U.S. Federal Communications Commission (FCC) had previously drafted a ban aimed at prohibiting the import of new Chinese optical transceiver modules, with plans to implement it within the year. Recently, U.S. lawmakers further proposed new legislation to prohibit Chinese optical transceivers from entering U.S. national security systems, expanding the scope of restrictions from commercial data centers to government critical infrastructure.

It is understood that the Value Partners Optical Communication Active ETF listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange on September 25 this year. The fund is not only Value Partners' first AI-themed ETF but also Asia's first active ETF focused on optical communication. In terms of investment coverage, this active ETF fully covers the entire optical communication value chain, with investment targets including core chips, optical modules, optical fibers and supporting materials, and optical network equipment, while also incorporating next-generation frontier technology tracks such as silicon photonics and co-packaged optics (CPO) into its investment scope.
